Additional National Barbecue Month Tips

kabobs on a barbecue

National Barbecue Month is here! If you love to barbecue, you’ll take any excuse to dive into some delicious ribs, wings, and steaks. In this week’s Cypress River Blog, we’ve got a few suggestions on how you can make the most of National Barbecue Month here in Ladson, SC. We hope these tips will help you have a more enjoyable month filled with delicious barbecue fare!

The Essentials

When you’re looking to host a barbecue, your success is dependent on ensuring that you’ve brought the necessary barbecue items. Some of those items include but are not limited to:

  • Plates

  • Cups

  • Utensils (eating and serving)

  • Napkins

  • Trash bags

These items can make or break your event, so we suggest making a list of the things you need and double checking it the night before so you can keep an inventory and purchase the remainder of your needed items. Keep these essentials by your door so you can grab it on the way out the door!

The food you serve will be the start of the show, which is why we recommend putting some effort into the menu you’ve planned for your barbecue. There are plenty of recipes accessible through the internet, so find the recipes that appeal to you the most or stick with your old favorites. If you’re worried about how much providing all the food can cost, you always have the option of making your event a potluck, inviting your guests to bring a dish of their choice to share.

After the food has been cooked and everyone is eating or has eaten, it’s wise to have something to do. Invite your friends to bring an acoustic guitar to jam, a football to throw around, or group games like Twister! If you enjoy a milder barbecue, you can just sit around and catch up with the friends you’ve invited.
