Hot Chocolate Recipes

The weather here in Ladson, SC is cooling down, making it appropriate to make some hot chocolate! The delicious liquid chocolate can be a good way to warm up on the colder days, but regular hot chocolate can be boring! In this week’s Cypress River Blog, we’ve got a few recipes that you can try out to spice up your hot chocolate!

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

  • 2 cups of milk

  • 2 cups of heavy cream

  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract

  • Whipped cream

  • Crushed candy cane

 

Give your hot chocolate that extra kick by adding some peppermint to it! This recipe is perfect for the cold November nights relaxing on your couch and watching a movie or sitting around chatting with your family or friends. 

Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate

  • 3 cups whole milk or half-and-half (or use a mixture of the two)

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree

  • 1 - 1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 4 oz white chocolate bar, chopped

White Fudge Oreo Hot Chocolate

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

  • 2 tbsp water

  • 1 1/2 cup milk

  • 2 white fudge Oreos, crushed
