National Bike Month

mountain biking as the sun starts to set

Do you remember the times as a young child when you were so eager to learn how to use a bicycle? Many people lose that sense of eagerness to ride their bikes as they grow older, but since May is National Bike Month, we’ve decided to share with you ways you can spark that feeling of wanting to ride your bike again in this week’s Cypress River Blog.

Take It for a Spin

Sometimes the best way to get excited about riding a bike is by actually getting on a bike and taking a ride. As you ride, you may experience feelings of nostalgia that can remind you why you loved riding bikes to begin with. For safety reasons, make sure your bike is oiled and well-maintained before you take it for a spin. You don’t have to go very far, just a once around the block should be enough to remind you why you love bike riding!

Cardio

If you’re looking to get healthy, getting on your bike or a stationary bike can help you on the path to fitness! Cycling is a great form of cardiovascular activity, especially since it can feel a little less like exercise and a little more like fun! Take your bike on some local trails and enjoy the scenery, or ride around your block.

Commute

Cycling is a great form of transportation and we highly recommend you use it for your commute to work or school if it’s reasonable to do so. You’ll be able to save some money on gas, get in your cardio workout before the day even starts, and reduce your carbon footprint.

We hope you use these tips to get you excited about riding a bike again. If you’ve got any bike related tips, let our Ladson, SC apartment community know of them by leaving a comment!
